Road Trip!!

First stop on our road trip was Hilton Head Island!

Our little biker with her way too big helmet!!

We spent the day riding bikes all over the island and it was so fun!

Next we headed up to Charleston and I am in love with this place! It has everything you could ever want: the beautiful green south, plenty of beaches, and the cutest downtown area ever right on the water.

Our little beach monkey

Beach selfie!

She LOVED the water!!

Our first day in Charleston we headed over to Sullivan's Island for a beach day! It was perfect and Caroline loved it!! Every time we tried to bring her back to our blanket she would immediately crawl back into the water! After the beach we walked over to Poe's Tavern, the coolest little restaurant!

Next we headed over to Magnolia Plantation. There are so many plantations in Charleston, it was hard to pick just one to go visit!

SO beautiful here!!

The next day we went to downtown Charleston and it is so cute, and I regret that I didn't take more pictures! We went to a farmers market, and then over to The Battery. There is so much history and and so many beautiful old homes. We walked along the waterfront and saw Rainbow Row, but again I am kicking myself that I didn't take pictures!

Caroline did pretty good with all the driving, but some moments were harder than others..

Last stop on our trip was Savannah! Again, I don't know what my deal was, but for some reason I only took ONE picture here :(

This is where the bus stop scene from Forrest Gump was filmed!

Downtown Savannah was super cute to walk around. Tons of little parks all over the place and cobblestone streets. You can walk along the riverfront and there are lots of shops and restaurants. We of course had to stop in a candy shop and get some pralines and fudge before we left!

Caroline is ONE!!!

Happy birthday Caroline!! I can not believe it has been a whole year.. and at the same time, it feels way longer than that! Caroline is seriously the best. She is so funny, and cracks me up all the time, and she is a big sweetheart. Although she does take after her mom a little too much in the sassy department. She is so curious and she is seriously SO active. She is always on the go and can not sit still! She will stand up by herself and can balance, but even though she can take a few steps by herself, she has zero interest in walking. Scott and I have been doing the whole hold our arms out thing so that she'll walk to us, but now she thinks its a game that means take as little steps as possible to dive into our laps.

One of my favorite things that she does right now is say "hi" all the time! It is so funny because she's not always very good at saying it back to people if they say it to her first, but pretty much anyone else she sees who isn't paying attention to her, she says "hi" to them and waves. Sometimes she just randomly says it to our front door (no one is there), or when I take her outside or even just out of her carseat she immediately says "hi" and waves at nothing in particular.

We had a little party for Caroline with some close friends and it was so fun! Everyone came over for lunch, while the little ones played with balloons that were all over the floor. Caroline opened some presents and I didn't even have to help her that much, she was pretty good at getting into them! I couldn't resist doing a smash cake and although she never went for the actual cake part, she did love the frosting!

2015 Highlights

Posting late as usual, but I love looking back at the past year after a new one starts!

Our "babymoon" trip to Panama City Beach was the best. It is already so weird to think of a time BEFORE we were parents

Baby Caroline arrived!! What a sweetheart, we are so lucky that she is ours and life with her just gets better and better everyday!

Being a stay at home mom is THE hardest job I have ever had, but it is also the most rewarding. I am so lucky that I am able to stay home with her and I love watching her grow and seeing all of her firsts happen!

When Caroline was around one month we took a small road trip to Vicksburg, MS to meet my family halfway for the weekend.

Caroline's first trip to the beach! She rode in a plane for the first time, got to meet her great-grandparents, and went to disneyland!

I have the best friend ever, who came to surprise visit me last August!! So fun to finally see her after two years and explore Birmingham with her!

Caroline and I took a trip home last fall and Caroline finally got to meet her cousins!!

Caroline got her ears pierced at her four month doctor's appointment and she was a champ, she did so good!

Road trips to Atlanta to see Taylor Swift in concert make for the best girls night out ever!

Queen of hearts, Mad hatter, and Alice in Wonderland for halloween

In December we took a road trip to Memphis to visit friends, but somehow this is the only picture I took the whole weekend... oops.

Caroline's first Christmas!! So fun to see her with her cousins and grandparents over the holidays!

Caroline also took her first trip to the zoo before we left Texas over the holidays. I wasn't sure how into it she would be, but she seriously loved every single moment!

An Alabama Fall

When I lived in Texas and then Utah, Spring and Summer had always been my favorite seasons, but here in Alabama my favorite season is definitely Fall! In Alabama the weather is perfect, it has been getting slightly cooler, and the trees have turned so many beautiful Fall colors!!
It is the best of both worlds, beautiful and colorful trees, without the freezing cold weather!
So we finally took some family pictures with miss Caroline!! <3

Wedding in Los Angeles

In July we went to Los Angeles for Scott's brother's wedding. It was so fun to take Caroline on her first trip and see family. The weather and the beach were pretty fantastic too!

First stop was berry picking

And then the wedding day, congrats Brian & Monica!!

And of course, lots of visits to the beach!!!

And we ended our trip on a perfect note at the happiest place on earth!

Caroline's Baby Blessing

FINALLY posting about this almost 4 months later... oops!

Caroline's blessing dress I made her:

Scott gave Caroline her blessing in church on July 5, 2015. I tried to record, but when it was over and I went to try and stop the video, I realized that I was starting a video instead, so that didn't work... It was such a sweet and heartwarming experience though and I am so grateful for Scott and the amazing dad that he is for Caroline.
